Zoning Commission

The Township Zoning Commission initiates or reviews all proposed amendments to the Munson Township Zoning Resolution. The five Zoning Commission members are appointed
by the Township Trustees for five-year terms. They meet the second Wednesday of each month at the Munson Township Hall. Zoning Board members are: Nick Christie (Chair), Kurtis Taylor (Vice), Adriano Fiucci, Ed Hren and Glen Peck. The Munson Township Trustees approved an updated Land Use Plan in 2003, the result of several years of cumulative efforts on the part of the Munson Zoning Commission, the Long-Range Land Use Advisory Planning Committee and the Geauga County Planning Commission.
Under “Documents & Forms” you can access the Zoning Resolution and Land Use Plan to review these documents in their entirety. Information about proposed zoning amendments is also provided in this section. The zoning resolution and zoning map can be purchased at the township office - cost $35 for the resolution and $10 for the map.

Board of Zoning Appeals

The Township Board of Zoning Appeals hears and decides appeals for variances or conditional uses. The Township Trustees appoint the five members to the Board of Zoning Appeals for five-year terms and alternates for two-year terms. Hearings are scheduled the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as needed and are held at the Munson Township Hall. Board members are Dennis Pilawa (Chair), Joe Tomaric, Jim O’Neill, Danielle Pitcock (Vice), and Don Ondrejka. The Alternates are Roger Simpson and Carol Maver.
