The Township Board of Zoning Appeals hears and decides appeals for variances or conditional uses, where owing to special conditions a literal interpretation of the Zoning Resolution would result in an unnecessary hardship. The Township Trustees appoint the five members to the Board of Zoning Appeals for five-year terms and the two alternates for two-year terms.  Hearings are scheduled the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as needed and are held at the Munson Township Hall. Board members are Dennis Pilawa, (Chairman,) Bobbie Nolan, Lucy Longo, Richard Wright and Sophie Horvath. The alternates are Lonnie Beck and Gabe Kezdi.

     The Munson Township Park & Recreation Board guides the growth and direction of the Munson Township Parks.  Current board members, appointed for three-year terms, are John Kaczynski, Tim Kearns (Chairman), Barbara Parkinson, Patti Palcic (Secretary), Enzo Perfetto, Michael Roche,
Joe Rosboril and Jon Schroeter. The park board meets every third Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

     In the fall of 1995, the Munson Township Trustees purchased 30 acres for a township recreational park.  A park dedication was held Saturday, May 19, 2001 and the first community picnic in Aug. 2004. The Park includes two pavilions, three little league ball fields, a major league field, a football/soccer field, two tennis courts, a basketball court, two sand volleyball courts, two small playgrounds, and a Vita Course. A restroom facility was added in 2003.  Nets are removed and restroom facilities are closed from Nov 1-Mar 31.

     In December 1999, the Munson Trustees purchased 165 acres of park land from the Domenic Nero family at the northeast corner of Route 44 and Bean Road nearly contiguous with the existing park. The 165 acres is a mixture of woods, wetlands, hills and flat space. Park board members, trustees, and residents from the community met to discuss long range goals for the new park on March 18, 2000. The land is protected by a conservation easement held by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy. In 2002 a gravel roadway, parking lot and utility connections were put in. Area scout troops constructed park benches and wooden trail sections, and the Western Reserve Land Conservancy lent its expertise and assistance in cutting in walking trails, which are close to completion. Two small picnic shelters were erected in 2006 along the walking trail. Only foot traffic is allowed anywhere in the park - absolutely no ATV's or other motorized vehicles.
